At the start of this project, I went with a simple black background for both the front and back of the menu to give it a clean and shuttle look.
For the front cover, I used the font Helvetica for the restaurant name I created — Burger Mania. I also added a PNG image of a burger and placed it into InDesign. I spent a lot of time adjusting the gradient map and playing with the saturation levels of the burger image to make sure it blended well with the overall design. It was a long process of tuning the saturation, but I enjoyed how everything came together in the end.
On the back of the menu, I focused on clean organization. I used a lot of tabbing to line up the food and drink items on the left side, with the prices aligned neatly to the right. My goal throughout the project was to design a menu that looked professional and as realistic as possible. something you’d see in an actual restaurant.
