For this project, I created a font specimen book based on John Baskerville and the history of the typeface.
In the beginning pages 3 AND 4, I provided information about the usage of the Baskerville font, along with a custom logo I designed to go alongside the text.
pages 5 and 6, I added visual elements and graphics to break up the text and keep the book visually engaging. I didn’t want my specimen book to feel like it was just all text. I wanted it to have personality and creative flow AS WILL.
Pages 7 and 8 focus on the background of the typeface, design modifications, and my further thoughts on the font's impact and style.
pages 9 and 10, I designed additional Baskerville-inspired logos, a page background, and a custom book edge to add more creative detail.
To close out the specimen book, I designed an obituary page. featuring John Baskerville’s name, birth year, and death year. as a creative and respectful way to end the project.
